Bedmo Disco down the Bank… plus new scalpel work

Tomorrow night (Friday September 10th) sees the public opening of a brand new Bristol venue, The Bank of Stokes Croft.

It’s a new project from our good friends Dave Smeaton and James Savage, the men behind our old stomping ground The Spotted Cow and, of course, The Big Chill Bar here in Brizzle. The venue itself was previously known as Mackies – home of boogie/electrofunk/soul/freestyle/disco night Ghettospheric – and has undergone serious renovation in the last month.

To celebrate the opening, Dave and James are hosting an opening night party, from 9pm-4am (that’s an epic), with various DJs from soon-come regular nights taking to the decks. Bedmo Disco will be playing (our first set together since Soundwave!), alongside DJs from Ghettospheric (a night we’ve played at several times) and Super Ultra Mega (one of Bristol’s new wave of disco/house/techno fusion nights – their residents are superb).

Entry to the party is free, so if you’re in Bristol pop down and check out the venue… and of course our set. No idea yet when we’ll be on, but it’ll be fun whatever happens. Here are the details:

The Bank Of Stokes Croft Opening Party
Friday 10th September @ The Bank Of Stokes Croft (84 Stokes Croft, Bristol)
9pm-4am, FREE ENTRY. Feat BEDMO DISCO, GHETTOSPHERIC and SUPER ULTRA MEGA DJs

Before then, we’d like to provide you with some new sounds fresh from the rusty scalpels we use at North Street Sound. Two brand new edits – one a 1984 style electrofunk growler, the other a 107 BPM disco banger. Enjoy!
