Released in June 2012, BEDM006 marks the original production debut of the core members of the Bedmo Disco family – studio pals AWON and label bosses BEDMO DISCO. It’s available to buy now from Juno Records and other stores.
ABOUT THIS RELEASE
To mark the fifth birthday of Bedmo Disco, Bristol’s Bedmo Disco Records is set to release a very special EP this June featuring original, party-starting productions from studio pals AWON and BEDMO DISCO. Entitled “B-FUNK”, the EP features four tried-and-tested cuts that blend elements of original 1980s New York boogie, electro and electrofunk with elements of contemporary house and nu-disco.
Bristol DJ/producer AWON handles the A-side, delivering two cuts that sound like original New York boogie dubs produced by Tiger & Woods, all vintage analogue production, dubwise effects, elastic basslines and the steady 4/4 pulse of noughties disco/house.
Flip for two almighty, heavyweight voodoo disco chuggers from label owners BEDMO DISCO, who impressively layer up elements of old skool electro and electrofunk in a style born out of years playing records in dimly-lit cellars and sunlit festivals.
“B-FUNK” is Bedmo Disco Records’ first ever EP of original material, following five years of sneaky reworks and clandestine re-edits. It will be released in late June 2012 on limited-edition blue vinyl.
